Even if you're not in crisis, therapy can be a valuable tool for personal growth and self-discovery.

About My Services

  • I offer a range of evidence-based therapies, including Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed approaches, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I tailor our approach to each client's unique needs and preferences.

  • Yes, I offer in-person therapy at my South Burlington, VT office, as well as online therapy for residents of Vermont, New York, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Michigan, and Florida.

  • Our standard therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. However, I can arrange longer sessions if needed, especially for initial consultations or intensive work.

The Therapy Process

  • Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any concerns you might have. It's also a chance for you to ask questions and get a sense of how we might work together. We'll begin to develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

  • The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Many clients start with weekly sessions and adjust the frequency as they progress. We'll work together to determine the best schedule for you.

  • The duration of therapy varies greatly depending on your goals, the issues you're addressing, and your progress. Some clients achieve their goals in a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support. I regularly review progress and adjust our approach as needed.

Practical Matters

  • Our standard fee is $175 per 50-minute session. I am an out-of-network provider for insurance purposes. I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. I recommend checking with your insurance provider about out-of-network mental health benefits.

  • I require 24 hours' notice for cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows may be subject to a fee.

  • Confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. What you share in sessions is kept confidential, with a few legal exceptions related to imminent harm to yourself or others, or in cases of suspected child or elder abuse. We'll discuss these limits to confidentiality in detail during your first session.

Online Therapy

  • Online therapy sessions are conducted via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You'll receive a link to join your session at the scheduled time. All you need is a device with internet access, a camera, and a private space where you feel comfortable talking.

  • Research shows that for many issues, online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy. It offers the added benefits of convenience and accessibility. I work to ensure that our online sessions provide the same quality of care and connection as our in-person sessions.
